The School Day

Children begin to arrive at school and make their way to class.

As children enter our classrooms, teachers are there to greet you. There is always morning work to complete on the whiteboard. Class teacher will say hello, speak about how children are feeling and complete the register.

Lesson 1: In most classrooms this would be Maths or English.

Generally all classes make their way to the hall for a whole school assembly. On some days assemblies are different: on a Monday it's often just two year groups together.

10:40am

Breaktime! Children go outside to play - we have lots of fixed equipment that can be used: climbing frame, trim trail, tyre parks!

11:00am

Lesson 2: In most classrooms this would be Maths or English.

12:00pm

Lunchtime! There are lots of clubs for children to join in with at lunchtimes, as well as the fixed equipment the children used at break, play equipment is available too: small world toys, mud kitchen, scooters, football, space hoppers, drawing, reading area...!

1:10pm - 3:30pm )

In the afternoons, children take part in the wider curriculum. This consists of a range of subjects, from Art or Reading to PE or Science. Our curriculum overviews can be found on this website.

One day a week, each year group is taught by specialists for PE, RE and Music to allow classteachers their planning time.

Each class will have a brain break with their class teacher in which they stay together as a class to play a game or tackle a challenge to help reset for the final lesson of the day.
