Pupil's Parliament

Being part of Pupils' Parliament gives children the opportunity to express their views across a multitude of issues that affect their daily school life.

Pupils' Parliament is made up from 2 representatives per class who have been voted in by the other pupils. It is the responsibility of each class rep to ensure that they express both their own views and the views of all the other pupils they represent.

Pupils' Parliament gives children the opportunity to develop skills such as confidence, negotiation and communication. Within the monthly meetings the children are encouraged to lead discussions, actively listen to one another and then share the outputs with their own classes.

At Dobcroft Juniors, Pupils' Parliament provides the pupils with an opportunity to make changes. In the past Pupils' Parliament have discussed and worked with staff on the following areas.

  • Playground improvements such as investment in new play equipment and playground markings.
  • Lunch time improvements and help provide valuable feedback to our caterers Taylor Shaw.
  • Promote safer driving and car parking around school.

We often have visitors attend our meetings: in the past these have been Taylor Shaw, PSA now FOD’s, school staff and parents & carers.
