LO: To investigate and analyse a range of existing products.
Our new topic is to create a Bug Hotel.
What is it? What kind of bugs might need a hotel? Why?
What mini beasts do we know?
What do we know about their habitats?
TASK 1: Go in your garden and have a look at where mini beasts live – looking under stones, around trees. What different ones can you find? Fill in the chart.
What did you find?
Look at power point and think about what makes a good bug hotel.
See sheets for pictures of bug hotels and makes notes on design, how it is made and its purpose.
TASK 2: Choose a bug hotel picture to annotate, thinking about:
- Design
- How it is made
- Purpose
Either choose 1 or 2 pictures from the sheet and stick in the middle of a plain sheet of A4.
