Hi Year 3,
We hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend.
Did you know that pigeons are a really clever animal because they can be used to carry messages? In the past, especially during wars, pigeons have been used to deliver important messages. This week you read a story about a pigeon.
Later in the week, you will explore shape poetry. You will have lots of fun designing your own calligram for an animal using the letters in its name. Can you remember when you did some Christmas calligrams?

Listen to the song, ‘The King of Rome’ which tells a story. Then revise and practise direct speech using the PowerPoint and video to help. Don’t forget you started practising direct speech on Friday. Can you make your own version of the pigeon story?
