Year 3 Wider Curriculum Week Beginning 1st June: French Week
Date: 28th May 2020 @ 10:25pm
Bonjour!
This week we are going to be using a really catchy French nursery rhyme as the basis for our Wider Curriculum home learning. Listening to songs in a different language is a great way to hone your listening skills, practise your pronunciation and to have fun! We will also get to revisit the year 3 topics of colours and numbers along the way.
I recommend watching the song a couple of times and then watching the powerpoint where I talk through the pronunciation. This can be revisted as many times as possible throughout the week. Our overall aim is for the children to be able to sing along with the song and create actions for each line!
All years will be using the same song so siblings in different years can perform together if they wish!
Monday
Watch the video of the song and then watch and listen to the powerpoint.
Complete the match-up lyrics exercise by either printing and drawing lines or cutting and sticking or writing the lyrics out on to a piece of paper. Watch what the robot does in the video to help you work out the lyrics!
Tuesday
Number practice. Can you recognise and write your numbers to 12? Complete the robot sheet to find out.
Wednesday
Colour practice. Can you remember the French for colours? Complete the sheet about robots and castles. Use the colour support sheet if you are unsure of any of the colours.
Thursday
Watch the video again and try to sing along if you can! Complete the wordsearch of the lyrics. There is an accent missing on one of the words in the wordsearch, can you spot it?
Friday
Watch the song again to remind yourself of the lyrics. Complete your own comic strip of the song using the lyrics as the captions. Can you sing the song off by heart?
