Hi Y3s - it's another shape week this week. I hope you enjoy it! From Mrs C
Monday
L.O: To recognise and describe 2D shapes (recap)
Today’s lesson is using your maths from KS1. I’ve attached a word mat to remind you of shape names. You need to remember ways of remembering them (hexagon and six both have an x, octopus has 8 legs, octagon has 8 sides…)
We use sides and corners to describe 2D shapes.
2D shapes are also called polygons
New vocabulary – quadrilateral
A quadrilateral is any shape with 4 sides. It is a shape family. I remember that a quad bike has 4 wheels. A quadrilateral has 4 sides. Quad means 4
Tuesday
L.O: To make and describe 3D shapes (you need your playdough if you have some)
You will need your wordmat from yesterday.
Tasks are on the powerpoint. Have fun!
Wednesday
To describe 3D shapes
Use your knowledge from yesterday to complete today’s questions. You can then challenge yourself to learn to draw different 3D shapes! (this link is to a good video!)
Thursday
End of unit assessment
I’ve given you the answers too. Work carefully and double check your answers ;)
Friday
Mental arithmetic test. USE YOUR WRITTEN METHODS! Remember the WAGOLLS from last week.
