If you have a pencil that is ‘B’, ‘2B’ or ‘4B’, use that. If not, just use any pencil you have but sharpen it first.
Remember to hold your pencil with a fairly relaxed hand and press lightly on the paper.
Using a whole page of A4, experiment with shading techniques.
Use the Shading techniques sheet to help you and see if you can label your own shading with the correct terms.

Task 1 – Sardines – can you play this in your garden? Can you adapt it to make it even more active?
Task 2 – Shadow Tag – can you think of any other fun ways to play a game with your shadow?
Task 3 – Skipping challenges – how many skips can you do and what different kinds of skipping can you do?
Task 4 – Soaked! – Check with your parents before you try this one!
