LO: To introduce a character.
Read how Livia (first description of Roman girl) and Deri (second description of Celtic boy) are introduced in the Captive Celt (see PDF).
Choose a Roman character to draw from the pictures and then write 4 or 5 sentences, introducing them. Who are they? What are they like?

Lesson 2
LO: To analyse character description
Highlight the character descriptions on the PDF, with the following colours, finding all the language features listed:
Blue - Adjectives
Yellow - Expanded noun phrase
Green - Similes
Red - Fronted adverbials
Purple - Proper nouns
Up-Level the character description, making at least 5 improvements in green pen.
Choose your favourite character description – Livia or Deri, and re-write it with your improvements in your neatest handwriting.
