LO: Fronted Adverbials

Look at the pictures and describe what is happening in them, using a fronted adverbial.

E.g. Bravely, the little boy chucked himself down the water slide!

Then, write a postcard, telling your teacher about your dream holiday.  Remember tp start each sentence with a fronted adverbial.

LO: Embedded clauses

Choose the *. ** or *** option depending on how confident you feel about embedded clauses.

An embedded clause is a clause used in the middle of another clause to give the reader more information about a sentence. Embedded clauses rely on the main clause and don't make sense in isolation. We separate embedded clauses from the main sentence with punctuation on either side of the clause.

Write a book review about a favourite book you have read.

Can you pass your review onto someone else and convince them to read this book over the summer?

Or could you bring it to your new teacher in September and convince them to have it as a class book?
