Y3 Home learning 18/5

Date: 17th May 2020 @ 8:05pm

Hello everybody, how are you?

I hope you had a nice weekend. What did you get up to? I made some rocky road with Bella and Tilly and painting the garden fence. We also went to the park and the girls played in the shallow part of the river and on the bank for ages. I managed to walk somewhere new this weekend too. I went past blue bells, woods, climbed a rickety bridge and ended up near a farm. I was very proud of myself for not getting lost. What have you been proud of this week?

Thank you to the children who have sent in transition videos for the Y2. I still need plenty more so plan what you're going to say (it's only got to be one thing) and email it to school. Well done to BM Y3SC for being the first one to send one in.

Your work for the next few days is below.

I miss you all, keep in touch please

Mrs Collis

Focus: Dictionary Skills

Today you will be learning how to use a dictionary. Don’t worry if you don’t have one at home because we have included an online link to a dictionary website that is designed especially for children. When you return to school, you will be able to impress us with your skills! This work also links nicely with the work you did last week on word classes. You’ll soon be an expert on nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs.

Maths

We have spent several weeks looking at time. I've attached a quiz about duration. The first page is the most simple and then it starts to stretch your problem solving and reasoning skills. Everybody should be able to do the first page and it would really help you to have a go at the rest as well. I've also included the answers so that your adult can help you if you get stuck. Remember to still tell the time lots of time EVERYDAY! It is the most important skill in maths. You will use if forever.

Reading

Challenge yourself to log onto BugClub at least three times this week. Enjoy the books you read and answer the questions sensibly. DId you know that your teachers can see the answers you write? In Y3SC some children are putting super answers to their questions - are you one of those children?
