Day 2 John Paul and the Flying Pigs

Date: 22nd Oct 2019 @ 9:36pm

Tuesday

We had a 'splashing' morning kayaking and raft building. I'm happy to report that although quite a few of 'John Paul and the Flying Pigs' ended up in the water everyone's buoyancy aid worked well and those that did end up in the water, were quickly whisked away for a hot shower and some dry clothes.  Marcus and Felix both agreed that it was fun and they enjoyed the teamwork aspect of some of the tasks the group had to complete.  Maggie and Martha also enjoyed the teamwork aspect of raft building and although the raft wobbled a lot, it was good fun.

After a delicious lunch, where mums and dads will be pleased to learn, lots of children enjoyed a piece of fruit for dessert. We disappeared to the far side of the site to build our very own buggy. We put to use all those skills we'd learnt building rafts to enable us to create our very own moving vehicle. Rosie like the fact that she learnt how to do some new knots and Jasmine loved sitting on top of the buggy and being pushed and pulled by the others.

After a short break we went inside for Laser Conquest. The competition was fierce between the red and green teams.   Isabelle did amazingly well and came tenth in her first quest and first in her second quest. Tim scored the best accuracy in one match and felt proud of his achievements.

After burgers and chips for tea for most, we zoomed off for more group challenges. Everyone is now very tired and safely tucked up in bed and I'm pleased to report there are even some gentle snoring sounds.
