Condover day 2 - Eager Eagles!

Condover day 2, Eager Eagles

The day began with breakfast before sunrise and plenty of energy was needed for the day ahead! 

After half an hour morning free time we headed off to our first of five activities which was a sensory walk. The children wore goggles to impair their vision and had use commands and a rope to guide them. Eve led the group through the course amazingly and their were some muddy children by the time we arrived back. 

After a quick change we got straight into activity two which was 'rocket launch' and the children had a blast firing rockets made from water bottles, water and air through the air and had competition measuring distance, accuracy and height!

After a much needed lunch the weather warmed up but it was time to get out the waterproofs as the children had raft building followed by kayaking ! 

The children worked in teams to built rafts made from empty barrels, logs and rope and showed fabulous teamwork to make an excellent raft! The moment of truth came as they tested the raft on the open water and all 12 children from our group made it onto the raft and across the lake. 

It was straight into the kayaks for the final activity of the afternoon and the children loved it! They went through some safety training before heading out in pairs onto the water and they all had so much fun chasing each other round and had a contest in fetching and stealing different objects which was won by the two Joes. 

It was then back to base for free time before tea which the children enjoyed playing outside or in their dorms. After tea we had one more activity before bed and had games in teams working out different puzzles and finding out answers to different questions about Condover and the Eager Eagles came 2nd and showed brilliant teamwork once again !
