Year 6 Maths Week beginning 8th June

Date: 5th Jun 2020 @ 5:34pm

Hi Year 6, Miss Farrah here again. I hope you enjoyed learning about angles last week.

You are going to continue working with properties of shapes this week.  Angles in special triangles, angles in a quadrilateral and angles in regular polygons. You will then be drawing nets of some 3d shapes

All resources are attached to the blog post. Parents - we have included answers too.

Monday 8th June

  1. We are going to kick start the week with a mental maths activity. There are 2 versions of the mental test, a full booklet and a paper saving version. It is always a good idea to show some of your method, so if you use the paper saving version, jot your calculations on a piece of paper.
  2. Once you have completed the mental maths activity, ask your adult to check the answers for you. Try to go back and see where you went wrong; could you get it right if you tried it again?
  3. Now got to BBC Bitesize to revise types of triangles https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zvmxsbk/articles/zggsfrd
  4. Activity 2 – create a poster that shows all the different types of triangles. This will help you tomorrow.
