Year 4 home learning 27.04

Date: 26th Apr 2020 @ 4:00pm

Hi Year 4!

Miss Fee here.

I hope you all enjoyed the beautiful weather last week! We had a lovely time at school doing our learning outside – I`m sure a lot of you managed to spend a lot of time outside too!

I`m missing you all very much and really looking forward to seeing you all very soon!!

Today`s blog is going to include Maths, SPAG, PE, and SCIENCE!

Maths
Now that we have done some work on coordinates and translations it`s time to move on. Our next focus in maths is angles! An angle is where two straight lines meet. You may have heard about different types of angles before so I`m going to show you a really nice way to remember them!

CORE TASK - Use your angle eater to identify what type of angle is shown. Write whether it is acute, right, obtuse or straight.

You can either print off the angle eater I have attached or make your own! You should cut out one of the sections so that it looks like the picture below. This will represent a right angle.

You can then use the angle eater to determine whether the angle is acute (less than 90°) right (90°), obtuse (between 90 °and 180°) or straight.

If you are finding this quite tricky why not start with the right angle sheet first :)

English (SPAG)

Homophones – We already know that a homophone is where two or more words have the same pronunciation but different meanings or spelling. I would like you to work through the worksheet, it consists of different tasks all based on homophones. I have attached the answers so you can check them after :)

PE: Fitness Bingo!
Up to 6 people can play this but you will need someone to act as the bingo caller each time!

How to play:

 1. Each player is given a Fitness Bingo card.

 2.  The bingo caller reads different activities, such as star jumps and toe-touches, from the fitness checklist.

 3.  Whoever has the activity on their board must complete the activity before ticking it off!

 4.  The first person to tick off all their activities wins!

Wider Curriculum – Science
You have been learning all about human teeth. I would like you to create a poster/leaflet all about how to look after your teeth! I know how creative you year 4`s are so I would love to see some completed pieces of work once you have done!
