Y5B Performance Poetry

Today, we watched some different actors and poets performing poems. We really enjoyed Michael Rosen’s performance of Chocolate Cake!

We then used our speaking and listening skills to perform some of The Jumblies by Edward Lear:

Far and few, far and few,
Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green and their hands are blue
And they went to sea in a sieve!

We used clapping, stamping, drumming and dancing to help us find the rhythm. Then we thought about our expression, pace, volume and facial expressions.
