Geography
L.O : To understand that mountains can be formed in different ways.

  1.  Begin by watching this video to help you to understand the layers of the earth https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXiVGEEPQ6c
  2. Print the task ‘Layers of the earth task’ or on a piece of paper, label the layers with the correct words: crust, inner core, outer core, lower mantle, upper mantle
  3. The earth’s crust isn’t just one piece- it’s made up of lots of smaller pieces called plates. These plates move, which create formations such as mountains and volcanoes.
  4. Watch the video to explain further: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9ty-ta1wyI&t=23s
  5. Choose one of the mountain formation types: fault block, dome or fold. Create a diagram on a piece of paper that shows and explains how the mountain is formed. Use the video to help you explain and label your diagram.
  6. Use the help sheet to help with your diagram drawing if you need to.
