LO: To write a play script plan
Read through the power point.
Make a plan for your own play script based on the story of ‘Matilda’ on the ‘Play script writing template’.
Follow the instructions.
Your characters will be from the story ‘Matilda’ – Matilda, Mr Wormwood, Mrs Wormwood, Michael, Miss Trunchbull – you choose.
What will they say (dialogue)?
What will happen in your first scene? Choose a part of the story that you know.
Draw your scene on the second sheet and plan how the rest of your dialogue will go.

LO: To write a play script
Using the plan from yesterday, write your play script out with stage directions and dialogue.
Remember, your dialogue does not need speech marks but the names of the characters should be followed by a colon before they speak.

LO: To read through a play script using expression for different characters
Read through the Ginger bread man play script.
Consider how each character would sound different.
Add stage directions to the script – can you improve it?

LO: To re-write an ending to a play script
Using the Ginger bread man script from yesterday, change the ending. Can you make it a happy ending for the Ginger bread man or is there no hope for him?
